Snowy Morning the new Grand National favourite

05/02/08: SNOWY MORNING became the new favourite in the Grand National betting when the Grand National weights were announced.

The Irish gelding hopes to continue the good run of his compatriots who have won six of the last nine Grand Nationals.

Snowy Morning was given 10st 12lb to carry while previous favourite Mr Pointment was burdened with 11st 8lb. Only Red Rum humped a weight heavier than 11st 5lb to win the Grand National in the last half century.
