Paul Nicholls relies on Fab Five for Grand National |
No.1 online bookie for Grand National betting |
Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls
has never trained a Grand National winner, though one of his former inmates,
Silver Birch, landed the Aintree spoils after Nicholls had outed him
and unceremoniously dumped the talented but fragile gelding in the sales. In a bid to correct this seeming major injustice, Nicholls has five entries in the showpiece race for 2010. Once again Nicholls, has some very fancied horses, with his Tricky Trickster the 12/1 favourite for the Grand National on the betting with Bet365. Gold Cup hope Taranis has been very lightly raced through injury but Nicholls thinks this high-class chaser warrants an Aintree entry. Big Fella Thanks is another from the yard to make the super Five. He knows his way around Aintree having been a most admirable 6th behind Venetia Williams' 100/1 shot Mon Mome (who goes again this year) in 2009. Another of Nicholls' to have valuable experience of the huge National fences is the veteran My Will, who seems to retain all his enthusiasm after a tremendous third in the Grand National last year. The fifth of Nicholls strong team is Nozic, a nine-year-old who has not won since December 2008 and whose form in big handicaps has been a little disappointing of late. Nevertheless there is no denying Nozic's class and ability and he would not be the first slightly jaded sort to be inspired by the unique experience that is the Grand National.
