Doumen tries to break Grand National hoodoo for France

The French have not landed the Grand National for 140 years. But that has not dinted the enthusiasm of French trainer Francois Doumen for his two Grand National runners.

Doumen runs both Kelami and his broth L'Ami in the Grand National on April 5th. L'Ami was an honourable tenth in the race to Silver Birch in 2007. He showed he is no back-number with a valiant third at the Cheltenham Festival.

Kelami undoubtedly has a big chance too. He was an excellent runner-up in the Racing Post chase last time, so the in-form Doumen duo can not be ruled out.
